Your Perfect Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Astrological Sign
The comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense enthusiasm within the fandom. Starting with the gradual reveal of newcomers ahead of the title's launch, to trainers developing strong opinions on the entire lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for fans to anticipate.
With many of the Super Forms showcasing unique appearances that emphasize their traits, one idea came to mind: How can link this with astrology? The following is based on a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.
Aries – Super Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was almost selected for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as always angry, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, known for being playful, cheerful, and impulsive. This makes the Ram much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which only erupts when angered. Stay on the friendly side of both and enjoy a strong partner; should you offend them, be ready to get burned.
Taurus – Super Heracross
Similar to a devoted Taurus, the reliable Heracross, whether in its regular and Mega form, has assisted numerous players in Legends: Z-A. While trustworthy, both the Pokémon and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will defend their position to the end. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed passion for treats. Several previous official descriptions mention their craving for sweet sap and how it employs its horn to collect it all, which is pure Taurus energy.
The Twins – Super Medicham
Observe this total queen. It's impossible to convince me this creature is not the life of every party, providing an endless stream of chatter to anyone who wants to hear. Much like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly easy to envision Super Medicham captivating an entire open area with their tales. Medicham’s official description also states its capacity to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which sounds quite like a people-smart Gemini.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
The Crab is widely regarded as the most sensitive member of the astrological wheel, a intense sign known for often becoming wrapped up in their feelings. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “tremendous quantity of energy, but it's too much for Manectric to fully control,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. This Pokémon is also recognized for its capability to create a storm cloud over its own self – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is going to do, it’s spoil their good time.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Well, did you assume I was planning to pick Pyroar for the king of the stars? Besides the reality that it would be far too obvious, Leo is obviously Super Starmie, the diva whose legs just became an internet sensation for being extremely fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple starfish, and that’s exactly the same energy a Leo brings to the table. This Pokémon is also rumored to be broadcasting signals from its center out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be putting on a performance, even if for aliens.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Mega with constant acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly judgmental is strongly reflected throughout this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a 401(k), to its inverted face that’s similar to the symbol a Maiden posts to the group chat when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a strategy.
The Scales – Super Audino
Observe this sweet, sensitive creature, who employs the feelers on its auditory organs to tell how others are emotionally by their pulse. Always compassionate – sometimes to a fault – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are many Scales who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. However, let’s be honest, it would probably just make them stress more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly sad origin: Discarded as a doll, it gained consciousness through pure hatred and vowed revenge on its former owner. Per the official info, Super Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That seems precisely like several discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly staging a performance. Being a Archer myself, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful little entertainer” is countless. The showiest and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can imagine.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the ability to predict disasters ahead of time? That gives the identical vibe as a Goat, who often always think they’re right. Interestingly, much like a visionary Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute initial Super Form that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to get in on the ground floor of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Aloof air sign Aquarius is arguably the non-flame sign that is most like a fire sign – its counterpart is Leo, and there are numerous jokes about the Archer and Aquarius being unpredictable accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Spirit/Flame typing fits seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating presence is also very Aquarius. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and transforms it into power.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
