Los Angeles witnessed widespread celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Supporters across the globe joined local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in 25 years that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.
Victory Parade Draws Massive Turnout
Los Angeles area events included a downtown parade on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Social media videos show countless of Angelenos packing downtown streets, many carrying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the masses, hoisting the championship trophy high.
“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” the star player stated through an interpreter.
The procession path concluded at the stadium, where the team emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and the artist driving a light blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.

Celebrations began well before the parade, with Dodgers fans setting off fireworks in the roads of the city center on the previous evening.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke plainly about the win.
“Losing is not an option,” Yamamoto stated. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

In contrast, the team owner was met with a less warm reception at the celebration. Recordings from the event appear to show him walking onstage to a combination of applause and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his speech.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
