As European nations cleaves ever tighter to Kyiv amid continuing warnings of U.S. withdrawal, the danger is that Trump has constructed a justifying narrative for ignoring his allies.

This situation requires a robust response from European leadership. Although certain leaders, including Germany's leader, have been forceful in their pushback, including British officials—have continued with a policy of seeking to placate the White House.

Recently, a Downing Street spokesperson declined to push back on the president's remarks about Europe or his renewed attack on the mayor of London.
