The House Oversight Committee has released a batch of around 70 photos from the estate of late adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This constitutes the third disclosure from a larger collection of more than 95,000 images the committee has secured from Epstein's estate. It features images of excerpts from the book Lolita scrawled across a woman's body, and redacted pictures of women's international passports.

This action occurs just hours before the 19 December cut-off for the Department of Justice to disclose each records related to its probe into Epstein.

"These new photographs bring up further questions about exactly what the Justice Department has in its custody," remarked the ranking member of the committee, Robert Garcia.

Contents in the Photographs Disclosed

A number of the photos released on Thursday depict Epstein in discussion with professor and activist Noam Chomsky inside a personal aircraft; Bill Gates seen next to a female whose identity is obscured; Steve Bannon sitting at a desk across from Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner event.

These are the newest wealthy, powerful figures to be photographed in Epstein's estate photographs published by the committee - previously published photos also depict US President Donald Trump and past president Bill Clinton, as well as movie director Woody Allen, former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.

Appearing in the photographs is does not constitute evidence of any wrongdoing, and a number of the photographed men have stated they were not participating in Epstein's illegal activity.

In a press release accompanying the photo disclosure, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee stated the Epstein estate's representatives did not supply context or timeframes for the photographs.

"Photographs were selected to offer the public with transparency into a representative sample of the photographs acquired from the property, and to give perspectives into Epstein's associates and his exceptionally troubling activities," the statement says.

The disclosure also features a number of images of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov book Lolita inscribed in black ink across various areas of a female's body, including her chest, feet, hipbone, and back. Lolita tells the story of a minor who was manipulated by a adult literature professor.

An example of a excerpt from the novel written across a woman's chest states, "Lo-lee-ta: the point of the tongue making a journey of three steps down the mouth to land, at three, on the teeth".

Additionally, there are a number of photos of female passports and ID papers from states around the world, including Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

The majority of the details on the papers, such as identities and dates of birth, is obscured but the panel stated in a announcement that the passports are associated with "individuals whom Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirators were involved with".

A further photo depicts Epstein positioned at a desk closely in the company of three female figures whose features have been censored - one has her hand on Epstein's torso under his clothing, and another is bending to look at a close-by laptop. Epstein can be seen to be helping the final person attach a wristband.

Another image released is a screenshot of text messages from an unnamed sender who states they have been provided "some girls" and are asking for "$$1,000 for each individual".

Photograph Release Occurs Before DOJ Deadline

The panel has a vast number of photographs in its holdings from the Epstein property, which are "at once graphic and everyday," its announcement on Thursday noted.

The oversight panel first legally compelled the property of Epstein, who died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on accusations of sex trafficking, in August.

The photographs and documents the Epstein estate gave to the body are separate from what is often referred to "the Epstein documents". Those files are documents under the justice department's custody connected to its independent probe into Epstein.

In accordance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which the President made law recently, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to publish its files. The scope of what is found in the DOJ's files is not publicly known, and it's likely that a significant portion of the information will be extensively censored, akin to the committee's materials
